Parts Service Advisor - Heavy Equipment

Falcon Equipment is currently seeking a Parts Service Advisor for our busy Surrey location. This position is responsible for assisting customers, both internal and external, in person and over the phone to provide merchandise, supplies and information while focusing on the achievement of departmental and company-wide goals and objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Parts Service Advisor is responsible for working directly with our Service Department delivering outstanding customer service and parts knowledge. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge about heavy equipment parts and be able to use both computer-based and manual parts catalogues. They will interact with employees and customers both in person and on the phone ensuring superior customer service. The position provides merchandise, supplies and information to all customers, both internal and external, while contributing to the achievement of departmental and company goals and objectives. Secondary responsibilities include maintaining inventory on all lines with relation to the Parts Department and demands of the customers and/or multiple shops.


Job Duties:

  • Work with Service employees supplying correct parts/components
  • Promote parts sales by suggesting related items
  • Determine correct parts numbers and “pick” parts for orders received
  • Read and understand parts breakdowns
  • Arrange for delivery or shipment of parts as required by Service
  • Put away stock, data entry and cycle counting
  • Help maintain orderly parts stock
  • Assist with regular parts inventories and the selection of parts for return under the parts obsolescence program
  • Recommend layout improvements to the Parts Manager and assist in physical rearrangement of layout of the Parts Department
  • Other duties as required

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required with BC Certification in Parts and Warehousing or equivalent an asset
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a parts-related role, preferably in a heavy equipment environment
  • Inventory management experience with some knowledge of hydraulics would be a definite asset
  • Good computer skills including MS Office
  • Must possess a valid BC drivers’ license
  • Exceptional customer service and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people tactfully and professionally at all times
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Must be proficient with both manual and computerized inventory control
  • Weight handling of up to 60 lbs. required
